On the New England Patriot's field, what are those gray wrench-looking things painted on the grass?

Lighthouses
Pooty Pootwell asked:

They're near the sidelines around the 50 yard line. There's one on each side. They look like wrenches with yellow lines extending from them.

I've asked this question before, and I belived the person that said they were lighthouses — That is until I watched last Sunday's game. They still look like wrenches to me!
